deadlines, please review the information and deadlines posted on the OGE pages.
December 21: A&H programs – Independent study, field exam prep, dissertation proposal, and
dissertation hours deadline for registration. Submit request to ahgradregistration@utdallas.edu
( for proposal and diss hours include name of professor, prefix, and number of hours
requested, copy your chair on request).
1st day of every month: LIT – Portfolio and Dissertation Proposal submissions, see guidelines
Rolling: HI/HIST – Proposal, Thesis, and Dissertation Proposal submissions, see guidelines
Enrollment in the Spring semester is required for all submissions.
January 9: HUMA, VPAS – Proposals for Portfolios and Dissertations due
to ahproposals@utdallas.edu ( for GSC consideration on January 17). This is the only
submission date for HUMA and VPAS MA students wishing to graduate in the Spring 2023
semester.
January 12: ALL – The last day for regular registration.
January 17: ALL – First day of classes.
January 25: ALL – Priority Graduation Applications due.
February 22: HUMA, VPAS – Proposals for portfolios and dissertations due (for GSC
consideration on March 8).
March 1: ALL – Final Graduation Application Due
March 14: ALL – Last day for submission of final draft of portfolios, theses, and dissertations to
all members of the supervising committee.
March 28: ALL – Last day to request oral defense of portfolios, theses, and dissertations.
March 29: HUMA, VPAS – Proposals for portfolios and dissertations due (for GSC
consideration on April 12).
April 11: ALL – Last day to hold oral defense of portfolios, theses, and dissertations.
April 20: ALL – Last day for final submission of MA Portfolios (to the AHT office in JO 4.510)
and Theses (to Office of Graduate Education).
May 5: ALL – Last day of classes.
May 5: ATEC – Thesis and Dissertation Proposals final deadline.
