Texas Tech doctoral funding

The TTU Graduate School has recently made funding available for supplemental recruitment of doctoral students. The English Department has appointments with funding for three doctoral students ($15K stipend and partial fee waivers), one of which will also carry a graduate recruitment fellowship of $4K/year for four years in addition to the stipend and waivers. The Graduate Studies Committee has decided to make these funds available for second-chance applicants in literature or linguistics, i.e., capable and qualified MA students who have been waitlisted at other institutions or who have not received an offer of funding.

Applicants must submit pre-qualification information (application form, CV, writing sample, personal statement, three letters of recommendation) to be submitted to english.gradadvisor@ttu.edu by May 23; we will consider these materials on a rolling basis until that point. The application form can be found at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/english/grad_degrees/admissions.php .

We do not admit BA students directly into the doctoral program. Prospective students must hold an MA by the start of the Fall 2014 semester.

Please have qualified and interested students contact me at english.gradadvisor@ttu.edu and visit the program website at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/english/grad_degrees/ for further information. I have also attached a flyer with the relevant information.

With thanks,
