Fourth Annual Feminist Art History Conference
Katzen Arts Center, American University, Friday, Nov. 8 – Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013
The Art History Program of American University announces the fourth annual Feminist Art History Conference, to be held from November 8-10, 2013. Sessions on Friday afternoon will be followed by an opening reception and keynote address; sessions continue on Saturday. Keynote address: Dr. Patricia Simons, “Devotion and Desire: Women Viewers and the Case of the ‘Lesbian Nun’ in Early Seventeenth-Century Italy.” An exhibition of work by Faith Ringgold will be on display at the National Museum of Women in the Arts; a panel discussion on contemporary women artists will take place there on Sunday.
